🎒 Gear to Make It Easy

Whether you're a seasoned hammock pro or just getting started, here’s what to bring:

🧘‍♂️ Slow down, savor your lunch, swing a little, and recharge. Your Wednesday self will thank you.

💡 Pro Tip: Head out around 5:30–6:00 PM to claim your favorite tree before the after-dinner crowd rolls in. Bonus points for bringing a small speaker, bug spray, and your ENC Explorer Passport takeout in a reusable tote.

👀 Coming Up...

One plan is all tacos and trivia, the other’s all trails and trees—both perfect for soaking up early June with your favorite people. Let’s dive in.

Date Idea: Trivia Night & Tacos at Uptown Brewing Co.

Where: Uptown Brewing Co., Greenville, NC
Cost: $25 per person

Tacos, cold craft brews, and a little trivia smack talk—this midweek combo hits all the right notes. Uptown Brewing Co. hosts free trivia every Wednesday at 7:00 PM, and you’re welcome to bring in food from nearby spots like:

  • Amante Tacos and Spirits – street-style tacos with flair

  • Chico's – a go-to for hearty Tex-Mex favorites

  • Side Bar – Drinkery + Kitchen – elevated tacos with a twist

  • Christy’s Euro Pub – low-key vibes and rotating taco specials

Get there early to grab a table, order your tacos to-go, and enjoy a relaxed night of good food and better questions.

📝 Bonus Tip: Already using the ENC Explorer Passport? Grab lunch earlier in the day from one of the participating spots and double up on your local eats while saving a few bucks.

Family Outing Idea: Nature Day + Hammocks at River Park North

Where: River Park North, Greenville, NC
Cost: Free (Optional $5 for boat rentals)

When the weather’s this good, a day at River Park North is an easy win for all ages. Start with a walk along the shady trails, stop by the nature center to meet a few critters, and then settle in for a picnic by the water. It’s the kind of outing where no one misses their screens—and you’ll want to stay longer than you planned.

Bring your hammock (there are plenty of perfect trees), and let the kids run free while you swing and snack in the shade.

🛶 Want to get on the water?
River Park North offers boat rentals Tuesday–Sunday, 10 AM–5 PM:

  • $5/hour per boat (canoes, kayaks, jon boats)

  • $3 private launch fee if you bring your own kayak or canoe

📝 Tip: Mornings are quieter and cooler—arrive early to enjoy the trails before lunch and secure a paddleboat or shady picnic spot. Bug spray, water shoes, and a backup shirt for the kids are a smart move.
